I am thrilled to present the first premiere of one of my songs, performed tonight by Jack. Beyond being a truly gifted singer and musician, Jack is a dear friend whose insights helped shape the heart of this piece. Our early conversations centered on themes of new love and budding romance, which ultimately led me to the poetry of Paul Laurence Dunbar.
